What Are Disney Dollars?
In May of 1987, the Disney Company began producing its own form of currency: The Disney Dollar.

Every year since then, except for 1992, 2004, and 2006, the Disney Company has continued printing their own money and exchanging it, dollar for dollar, with the United States currency. You'll notice those years missing from the store pages, as the dollars don't exist.
In 2005, a limited edition $50 bill was released as part of Disneyland's 50th anniversary celebration. These bills are very rare, but a page is included should one become available.
Disney Dollars are highly collectible despite being worth exactly the same as United States dollars, and being so accessible. They make fantastic souvenirs from vacations to the theme parks, being so easily transported, and costing as little as $1.
